If the sale involves a lender, the buyer must make arrangements to obtain hazard insurance naming the lender as loss payee. This insurance information should be furnished so that the lender will be able to work on the issues arising out of the escrow account ahead of the closing date.
The hazard insurance premium has to be paid in advance. The lender will require the premium be disbursed from the closing statement. The check will be forwarded after closing as directed by your agent. Usually the check will be sent to the agency you used and not the company itself. Therefore is would be incumbent on your agency to forward payment to the company.
