Robert R. Gunn II

(1951-2015)

Rusty Gunn is a deceased partner, having practiced in the firm’s litigation section.

Rusty received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in 1974 and his Juris Doctor from the Walter F. George School of Law in 1977. In law school, he was on both the Mercer Law Review and Moot Court Board, and later in his career, he served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Walter F. George School of Law. Rusty was also certified as a mediator and an arbitrator by the Georgia Commission on Alternative Dispute Resolution and was managing partner of South Georgia ADR Service (www.southgeorgiaadr.com), a mediation firm offering complete alternative dispute resolution services in middle and southern Georgia. He was a member of the panel of arbitrators for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia and had extensive experience, both as an advocate and neutral, in all methods of Alternative Dispute Resolution. 

Rusty served as president of the Macon Bar Association and served on the Board of Governors for the State Bar of Georgia from 1999 through 2005. He also served on the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association Board of Directors, co-chairing the Amicus Curiae Committee. He was a faculty member of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Trial Academy and served as chair from 2000 through 2002. In 2005, Rusty was awarded the W.A. Bootle Professionalism Award by the Macon Bar Association. Rusty lectured at numerous seminars on topics related to Insurance Defense practice and alternative dispute resolution, including premises liability, pre-trial discovery, evidence, trials, and mediation.

Rusty was listed in both Best Lawyers in America and Georgia Super Lawyers and had an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
